Precision electronic hardware springs and conductive contact springs

Date:2026-06-22

Precision electronic hardware springs and conductive contact springs are fundamental precision components for electronics, electrical appliances, connectors, locks and other products. The vast majority are custom non-standard parts, with core functions including electrical conduction & contact, elastic reset, buffering & shock absorption, and snap-fit locking.Battery positive and negative contact pieces are composite assemblies consisting of a stamped metal base and a coil spring, representing a typical category of hardware contact springs.
  • Core function: The elastic pressure of the spring ensures stable electrical contact and conduction between the battery electrodes and the circuit, while compensating for battery dimensional tolerances, providing shock buffering, and preventing poor contact.
  • Structural variations (from left to right): vertical single-pole contact spring, single-pole contact piece with bump welding, single-pole spring with square mounting base, and integrated bipolar contact piece, each adapted to the installation and conduction requirements of different battery compartments.
  • Common materials: Bases are typically made of nickel-plated cold-rolled steel or stainless steel, and springs are made of stainless steel wire or nickel-plated carbon steel wire, balancing electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance.

Conventional Coil Springs and Special-shaped Contact Springs

  • Small compression springs: The most widely used cylindrical helical compression springs that bear axial force. They are used for structural tightening, resetting and buffering, and are widely applied in switches, snaps and small mechanisms.
  • Large-size compression springs: Featuring larger wire diameter and mean diameter as well as higher spring force, they are suitable for industrial structures requiring greater tightening load.
  • Copper wave contact springs: Generally made of phosphor bronze or beryllium copper, with excellent electrical conductivity and long fatigue life. As a type of special-shaped leaf spring, they are mostly used for elastic conductive contacts inside connectors, charging terminals and switches.
  • Miniature compression springs: With extremely fine wire diameter, they fit into the compact internal space of precision electronics, micro switches and digital products.

Non-standard Special-shaped Springs

Non-standard special-shaped springs are customized for specific mounting structures and functional requirements with highly targeted performance:
  • Double spiral special-shaped springs: A type of torsion-type special-shaped springs, commonly used in rotary buckle and rotary snap structures to provide torsional resilience. They can also serve as double-contact conductive springs.
  • Long-rod wire-formed special-shaped springs: Custom parts formed by integral bending, with both transmission and elastic reset functions. They are mainly used in locks, push-pull snaps and small transmission mechanisms.
  • Double torsion springs: They provide reset force through the torsional moment of two arms, and are standard accessories for flip covers, hinges, clamps and key return structures.
  • Hooked extension springs: They bear axial tension force and are applied in pulling and reset scenarios, commonly found in locks, small machinery and slide rail structures.
Core parameters of such precision hardware parts include wire diameter / material thickness, spring force, material and surface treatment (nickel plating, gold plating, tin plating, etc.). They are usually custom-manufactured according to customers' product structure, electrical performance and working condition requirements. Manufacturing processes cover precision stamping, spring forming, heat treatment, surface electroplating and more.
